Jungle – Drops

Sulking never sounded as good as it does in the hands of this faceless producer.

Jungle, the producer behind this slinky remix of Swedish singer MØ that we couldn’t get enough of a few weeks ago, has shared another luxuriously moody track in the form of Drops. Due to be released as a AA-side with the earlier track Platoon, Drops stitches together sparse elements – tentative guitar plucks, muted brass, soft vocals and what sounds like a creaking door, to name a few – to create a beautifully realised, sulky atmosphere carried along by listless lyrics like “I’ve been loving you too long.” It’s deceptively layered; you’ve got to hit replay a few times to get your fill.

Chess Club will release ‘Platoon / Drops’ on the 15th July 2013.
