Joji’s ‘Slow Dancing In The Dark’ is breathtaking

88rising’s Joji has amassed a cult following for his soulful, narcotic vocals and striking aesthetic, with comparisons already being drawn with James Blake.

One year on from his ‘In Tongues’ EP, and having contributed to 88rising’s ‘Head In The Clouds’ compilation in the meantime, the Osaka, Japan-born artist has just dropped a haunting new solo effort – ‘Slow Dancing In The Dark’.

A heart-wrenching power ballad at its core, the accompanying visual sees Joji pierced by an arrow and wearing goat legs – and it’s an essential watch.

His cult fanbase will also be pleased to learn that he’s just announced an album, ‘BALLADS 1’, which the label promises will be coming soon.
