Jessie Ware previously wowed last February 14th with Valentine, her featherlight Sampha collaboration. Now, exactly 365 later, she’s back with Running, produced by Dave Okumu from the Invisible and co-written by Julio Bashmore. It’s a perfect tune, soft, elegant and sad and reminds one of Lisa Stansfield’s best work, as wel as the vocals of Massive Attack collaborator Shara Nelson.

She spoke to Red Bull about her experience, and you can hear the song over at

It’s a part two of a song I wrote with Julio Bashmore. Part one Sweet Talk is quite flirtatious and more upbeat; it’s about a person that puts on the charm and the other person falls for them. Running is about the repercussions of not staying away. It’s about the darker side of falling for somebody and being so entrapped by your feelings for them.
