"I'm afraid I wasn't with all those freaks": Jamiroquai addresses Capitol siege memes
Jay Kay of Jamiroquai has addressed the memes comparing him to a headgear-clad rioter who violently stormed the Capitol in Washington DC last night, leading to the death of four.
The 51-year-old posted a video, stating in a faux American accent: “Good morning world. Now some of you may be thinking you saw me in Washington last night but I’m afraid I wasn’t with all those freaks.”
The ‘Virtual Insanity’ singer captioned the video: ‘Good Morning Washington, loving the headgear, but not sure that’s my crowd. Stay safe everyone, J xxx’,
Before wishing everyone a Happy New Year and thanking people for his birthday messages, he mentioned how he’d like to get back to touring. In regards to the pandemic, he added: “the way we treat our animals; farming them, caging them, all the rest of it, we’re just going to get this again and again.”
