James Blake: up for a Brit, moving in with Chance The Rapper

The Mercury Prize winner is now up for Best Male. He's also becoming roomies with the Chicago MC.

And so the success of James Blake continues. Following on from winning the Mercury Prize last year – an outcome that nobody seemed to bet on, least of all Blake – he's been nominated for a Brit award.

Getting a nod in the Best Male Solo Artist category, Blake is up against stiff competition, such as Tom Odell, Jake Bugg, and David Bowie, probably the only time that Bowie will ever be categorized alongside Tom Odell.

In other James Blake news, he is going to move in with Chance The Rapper. The Chicago rapper spoke to NME recently and said that they'll be roommates in LA, planning to turn their house into a "compound" and collaborate on music "almost every day". In Chance's words, "We're getting a compound so we figure we might invite people round to the crib and make some music in the house, then kick them out and bring in some new people."

You can check the full list of Brit nominations below. Further folks up for Brits include the usual suspects (Ellie Goulding, Jessie J) and lively young boys Disclosure. The winner will be announced at the award ceremony on February 19th 2014.
