ICA presents soundart season

London's Institute of Contemporary Arts showcases sound installations from the noted American composer Bruce Nauman and contributions from over 100 more international artists.

Bruce Nauman’s seminal work ‘Days’, first premiered at the 2009 Venice Biennale, will be the feature at the ICA this summer. Born in Indiana and studying mathematics and physics before he turned to art, Bauman’s work in sculpture, film, video and performance has spanned a near 50 year career. ‘Days’ is a sound installation made up of a continuous relay of seven different voices reciting the seven days of the week in random order and continues the artist’s interest in the web-like relations of language and time.

Alongside the UK premiere of ‘Days’, the ICA has also organized a related gallery of sound files submitted by artists all over the world called ‘SOUNDWORKS’, extending the core themes of Nauman’s work. A further event program made up of talks, performances and screenings will also be held to coincide with the dual-exhibition.

‘Days’ and ‘SOUNDWORKS’ will be exhibited for free from 19th June to 16th September, full details are available at the ICA website.
