Hudson Mohawke - Sweet Silverskin

Glaswegian super-producer Hudson Mohawke – who recently has soundtracked a Lionel Messi-idolising Adidas ad and turned in a banging Disclosure remix – had a new jam played on Mistajam’s 1Xtra show last night. Featured in a Daily Dose mix from Lucky Me’s The Blessings, its light brushes of fanfare feel more understated than the maximised TNGHT output – but it still collapses into a satisfying tumble of chunky bass ‘n’ drums. In its current radio-ripped form it’s a mere slip of a thing, but it certainly whets the appetite for that new solo album expected this year, which the producer has said he hopes will see him step “out of the electronic bedroom producer role and move into a musician producer role.”.
