Having debuted his first solo release on John Talabot’s Hivern Discs label in 2010, Barcelona producer Pional has since established for himself a distinctive sound – a downtempo house thump abounding in colours. With two EPs out on Munich label Permanent Vacation last year, he’s done himself justice in showcasing his sleek production skills with the remarkable standout track Where Eagles Dare.

The Spanish producer has recently uploaded a remix of R&Bro How To Dress Well’s & It Was U, taken from his latest album ‘Total Loss’ on Domino imprint Weird World. While keeping the infectious, bittersweet, elevated moments of the original version, this re-interpretation is an elegant piece of synth and 4×4 beat, oscillating steadily and quietly over Tom Krell’s mutated vocals. Truly beautiful.
