Houghton festival returns for 2020 with Cobblestone Jazz, Helena Hauff, Move D and more

"A great sense of togetherness came from the drama and disappointment" came from last year's cancellation...

Last year, Craig Richards’ Houghton festival was dealt a severe blow by the weather gods. With strong winds forecast for the event, the team took the heartbreaking decision to cancel the much-loved event.

Refusing to be undeterred by a setback that’d put most festival organisers off for life, Houghton is back with a line-up that’s bigger than ever for 2020.

Boasting big names in dance like Ben UFO, Joy Orbison, Call Super, Ricardo Villalobos and Four Tet, the festival will see a variety of acts play live, including Floating Points, Juju & Jordash and DMX Krew.

Held in the grounds of Houghton Hall, Norfolk, between August 6th and 9th 2020, the festival will continue its focus on incorporating music, sculpture and art into the stunning natural surroundings.

“Last August Mother Nature denied us a big dance,” Craig Richards says. “The extraordinary circumstances and the learning curve that followed have only deepened our commitment to making this festival the unique celebration of music, art and good times that it is. The enormity of the cancellation generated a lot of love and support from the already established Houghton community. A great sense of togetherness came from the drama and disappointment.

“Our intention is simply to improve on the improvements we made last year and to continue our quest to present music, art, food, drink and sculpture in it finest light. ”
