We’ve been banging on about Grimes’ Vanessa for a while now. Now, you can hear Grimes’ first offering from her new album that is forthcoming on Arbutus on 31st January, 2011. Oblivion is a slice of elevating electronic pop; Grimes’ falsetto voice is faintly echo-y, but at the same she sings her lyrics in such precision it unfolds her fascination with making this tune as pop-y as possible.
