Forest Swords - Weight Of Gold

The Tri Angle producer announces his debut album with a foreboding composition.

New material from Tri Angle artist Forest Swords is in itself a reason to celebrate; due to hearing problems, producer Matthew Barnes was forced to take time away from music after the release of his jaw-dropping 2010 'Dagger Paths' EP, leaving the world missing the dense, earthy strokes he brought to electronic production. Thor's Stone, the track Barnes used to announce his comeback a few weeks ago, is already one of our favourite tracks of 2013 so far, so it brings us great joy to be able to share its follow-up today – and not only that, but confirmation of the album we've been waiting for, 'Engravings', due for release this September. Weight of Gold is an intense mosaic of organic and inorganic sound, striking a more foreboding note than Thor's Stone but displaying all the same flair and showmanship.
