Fekky launches C&C Foundation to support Black talent in local communities
Fekky has set-up a brand new organisation called the C&C Foundation with the aim of supporting Black talent in the music and arts sector.
Announcing the news on social media, the 32-year-old outlined the aims of the grassroots organisation which will set out to use events, schemes, and workshops as a means of empowering the next generation of equipped creatives.
The company, named after Fekky’s two sons, is calling out to people, companies, and businesses to support and invest in the cause, where most of the initial community work will be focused on the rapper’s home borough of Lewisham.
Speaking of the new start-up on his socials, Fekky said: “There’s so much speculation around all these organisations and charities I just decided to do my own. So welcome to #CCfoundation and we will mean anything we say.”
“My first target will be my own borough of Lewisham to start with… We wanna focus on, help with talents such as music and arts, regeneration, mental health, community building, and hopefully get to a point where we can offer start-up business loans.”
“I have my own ideas but I believe the community isn’t one person so I’m looking for a board of 5 – 10 people from the area (people can nominate people).”
“I am also reaching out to companies and businesses to invest in our fund the same way we support their brands and build them. I strongly feel investment should be plugged into the grassroots of areas that produce talents such as myself or a boxer like Anthony Joshua or a footballer like Raheem Sterling.”
