Esben and the Witch sign to Matador

Exciting Brighton folk band bring out EP and debut on the August indie label.

Esben and Witch play weird and interesting folk music, and they’ve just signed to Matador. On the 11 October they’ll bring out Marching Song, backed by Done Because We Are Too Menny and Souvenirs, and early in 2011 they’ll bring out their first record. A video for Marching Song is playing on their website.

Previously they’ve played with some of our favourite rock bands like the xx, School of Seven Bells, The Big Pink, Warpaint, Deerhunter, and Wild Beasts, and brought out a really cool single off their own backs called ‘33’. Watch their video for previous, Too Pure single release Lucia, At The Precipice.

Matador will release Esben and the Witch’s single Marching Song on the 11 October.
