As autumn rolls in the temperatures may start to fade, but our nightlife series at Miranda, Ace Hotel London definitely won’t – and to back up our claim, we invite Warner Music sub-label MENO Records to take the reins of our first Dummy Presents of September.
Heading up the bill is Scottish producer Makeness, who unveiled his second single 14 Drops back in May. Drawing on a passion for afrobeat, new wave, folk and Detroit techno, Makeness’ live set could range from anything that includes dark disco and outsider house to everything in-between, with an extra dose of dizziness.
Meeting in Leeds and relocating to South London, Adult Jazz are a deep-reaching and experimental indie-electronic quartet usually found releasing on Tri Angle and Spare Thought. They join us for a DJ set, and if their so-fresh-it’s-still-warm FADER Mix is anything to go by, you lot are in for a treat.
Growing tired of playing music with other friends and bands, Formation was born from two brothers determined to find a new groove. With a connection that stems directly from the womb, Matt and Will Ritson found that sweet solace as Formation. MENO Records snapped them up for their first release back in March 2015. After joining us for an electrifying live set at Dummy Presents earlier this year, we took the chance to invite them back for a DJ set, and are expecting big things from the pair.
Sweat are a Peckham based five-piece consisting of singer Dante, Gamaliel on keys, bassist David, Joe on guitar, and drummer Matt. Fresh from the release of their baggy swagger led single Acid Rainbow, which was remixed by fellow South Londoners Formation, they’ll be rolling out an extra special DJ set.
Further DJ support comes from the MENO DJs.
As always, entry is free with a simple RSVP. Keep locked to the Facebook event page for any further announcements.
Dummy Presents: MENO takes place September 7th at Miranda, Ace Hotel London (free with RSVP).
