Joining us in the basement for our last Dummy Presents of June are longstanding independent label, Because Music.
Heading up the bill on the night are Netherlands based duo Klyne, who will be ready to bowl the crowd over with their infectious and effortless groove laden electro pop. Klyne recently released the video to their new single, Don’t Stop (their first new material since signing to Because Music) which comes backed with a second new track, Lend Me Another Name, and follows Klyne’s critically acclaimed debut 'Paralyzed' EP for Aesop, as well as their maiden remix, a rework of Disclosure’s Omen feat. Sam Smith. Watch the video, directed by Holly Blakely, here.
But before Klyne’s performance we will see Jamaica born, Stratford-raised folk-R&B sensation Denai Moore. The critical acclaim received for Moore’s debut LP, 'Elsewhere', brought due attention to a record brimming with invention and a deft of touch from this hugely gifted young British songwriter.
With influences ranging from Joey Bada$$ and Tinashe to Bon Iver and Foals, Moore’s songwriting shows immense diversity – if you take the songs back to their skeleton-frame, it’s still very much about her startling, vulnerable voice, but there is a sparseness and atmosphere that recalls something deeper and decidedly more left of centre.
After teasing an extra special guest DJ on our initial announcement, we're now pleased to reveal what you've all been waiting for! Metronomy founder and frontman Joseph Mount will be on hand for a feelgood injection of seasonal heat with a 'Summer 08' DJ set. Ace Hotel's next door neighbours Sister Ray have also got on board with a special offer for this incredible show. All you need to do is pre-order Metronomy's album 'Summer 08' at Sister Ray Shoreditch or Sister Ray Soho to get a complimentary wristband for this exclusive event.
We're also happy to announce a further line-up addition in the form of DJ and remixer Jonjo Jury, aka The Lovely Jonjo.
