Drake and Future drop collaborative mixtape 'What A Time To Be Alive'

"It's a little soundtrack for people that need it right now," says Drake.

Drake and Future's 11-track mixtape was premiered on the OVO Sound show on Beats 1 last night and is now available to stream or buy on Apple Music. Following their respective hits 'If You're Reading This It's Too Late' and 'Dirty Sprite' this year, 'What A Time To Be Alive' adds to the pair's furore by featuring nine collaborative tracks plus an an individual track each from Drake and Future.

The two rappers gel together perfectly as they ponder over girls, cash, success….and diamonds. The beats mainly come from long-term Future producer Metro Boomin with additional works from Southside, Boi-1da and Noah "40" Shebib. "It's a little soundtrack for people that need it right now," says Drake.

Drake has also credited Ernest Baker as naming the mixtape, a phrase which was derived from an episode of The Simpson's where Jasper tries to cryogenically freeze himself in the Kwik-E-Mart frozen section. His attempts are of course unsuccessful, but he's still bowled over by a 'Moon Pie' stating, "what a time to be alive".

'What A Time To Be Alive' is available now on Apple Music (buy / stream).
