Dr. Dre's home targeted by burglars while in hospital for a brain aneurysm

"I will be out of the hospital and back home soon," he said

While hospitalised and recovering from a brain aneurysm, Dr. Dre’s home was the site of an attempted break-in, according to a report from a local news organisation.

His residence in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles, California, was targeted yesterday (Jan 5th) at around 10pm.

Police noticed an SUV believed to have been involved and followed it until four suspects inside were apprehended and taken into custody in Pacific Palisades. A bag filled with saws, crowbars and other “burglary tools” was located inside the vehicle.

The hip-hop legend is currently being treated in hospital and is “doing great”, according to a new post on his Instagram.

“Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes,” he posted. “I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!”

The 55-year-old rapper and producer was reportedly taken to the Intensive Care Unit of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on January 4th.

Friends and fellow stars have sent their wishes to the rapper after reports of his ill health came out, with Ice Cube tweeting: “Send your love and prayers to the homie Dr. Dre.” Snoop Dogg wrote on Instagram: “GET WELL DR DRE WE NEED U CUZ.”
