Donna Summer is the subject of a new remix album called 'Love To Love You Donna', where new producers take on the late disco singer's classic material.
While Summer's music is basically untouchable as it is, the album isn't as sacrilegious as, say, Ultra's EDM remixes of the Salsoul back catalogue. And while tracks like I Feel Love (Afrojack remix) are the remixes that nobody asked for, the addition of folks like Hot Chip and Jacques Greene is fairly welcome – as is this remix of Our Love by Krystal Klear.
The original version of Our Love appears on Summer's album 'Bad Girls' and is perhaps best known for its iconic drumbeat, which was liberally nicked by New Order to form the rhythmic basis of Blue Monday. Krystal Klear's take is much more grubby, dubby, and nightclubby, and it feels a lot less celebratory than the original – something you can probaby chalk up to the fact that it's not 1979 anymore.
