Dollop announce The Detroit Series, with Juan Atkins, Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson

London promoters are bringing three techno legends over for three nights in East London this summer.

London party Dollop have booked the three men credited with birthing techno back in Detroit in the ’80s for a series of parties in East London over the summer, beginning at the end of June with Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson playing in July, and then Derrick May at the end of July.

Juan Atkins is the man often credited with the invention of techno, and has recorded as part of Model 500, and as Cybotron amongst others, and started the label Metroplex. Derrick May has been responsible for some seminal records, including Strings Of Life under the name Rhythim Is Rhythim. Kevin Saunderson meanwhile is perhaps most famous for his collaborative work as Inner City with singer Paris Grey. The three events will be a great opportunity to see these three key players in techno’s beginnings perform, a real chance to witness a slice of dance music history in action.
