This new pamphlet tells you how to document music and cultural scenes
Document Your Culture is a new pamphlet designed as an instructional manual for telling your own cultural story, based on the belief that these stories are best told from the inside.
It’s been written by Make Some Space author Emma Warren, the writer who recently chronicled the history of fabled Hackney venue Total Refreshment Centre in her 2019 book.
According to the pamphlet’s press release, documenting culture is important “because we’ll need to be able to explain why grassroots venues, basements, skateparks, co-ops and community centres matter so that we can contribute to how they’re reshaped over coming months and years.”
The pamphlet explores ideas collected during talks and workshops that Warren ran, including workshops in a south London shed, HMP Pentonville Prison and in festivals and conferences across Europe.
Document Your Culture‘s accompanying audiobook comes with an exclusive Wonky Logic track titled ‘Left On Mars’.
