So why make them?” goes the news-sampling intro to this hard-hitting new joint from DJ Rashad, DJ Manny and Brenmar. The three Chicago dudes go for the jugular on Stick Up, which seems to be inspired by the recent killing of a DC teen shot for his trainers – the latest victim of this sad and empty crime. Musically, Stick Up treads ground somewhere between Rashad and Manny’s footwork and Brenmar’s more juked up house sound. It’s a burner, and it burns.
