DJ Funk - Three Fine Hoes (Sinjin Hawke remix)

The Pelican Fly artist reworks the ghetto house veteran - the result is large.

Ghetto house veteran DJ Funk is undergoing an extensive remix treatment courtesy of Booty Call Records.

The label released Funk's three-track 'Work Dat Body' EP last year, and September will see that EP's three tracks getting reworked by Ken Ishii, Nadus and Pelican Fly's Sinjin Hawke.

Sinjin Hawke has had a good year – his Prom Nite is one of the best, most bombastic club tracks to have come out this year – and his reworking of Funk's charmingly-titled Three Fine Hoes (premiered by FACT) is worth writing home about. Clearly, the Barcelona-residing producer is still in the same mindset as he was when he made Prom Nite. His reworking turns Three Fine Hoes into a huge, maximalist dancefloor slayer – snare rolls, gigantic horns, escalating bass drops – all the while keeping it surprisingly sultry and somehow not as OTT as its separate components suggest it would be.

While we're at it, Hawke also reworked another ghettotech legend recently – check out his recent rework of Sleepover by DJ Assault (he of Ass N Titties fame) here.

Booty Call will release 'Work Dat Body Remixes' on September 16th.
