DJ Earl to release debut album in February 2012

Rashad and Spinn's footwork protege gears up for long player titled 'New Era'.

At only 20, Chicago footwork producer DJ Earl is one of the youngest members of footwork heavyweights DJ Rashad and DJ Spinn’s Ghettoteknitianz crew. Having featured on the second instalment of Planet Mu’s footwork compilation ‘Bangs & Works Vol.2’, DJ Earl is, along with Jlin (who we recently interviewed), part of the fresh new generation of footwork producers coming up in the Chicago scene.

So we’re more than a little excited to announce that DJ Earl’s debut album is to be released on February 28th 2012. It’s called ‘New Era’, will feature 13 tracks and be issued via new Oslo, Norway based electronic music label Electropix. In the meantime, check this recent, very tidy mix from Earl.
