Darkstar - Young Hearts (Darkstar remix)

Darkstar's second album 'News From Nowhere', their first for Warp Records, kept us warm through 2013's cold and dismal first days to make it onto our best albums of 2013 so far list. Now we're in autumn mode and the album has taken on new life with the announcement of two remix EPs. The first – '01484', out next week – features one cut from Motor City Drum Ensemble and two revisits from Darkstar themselves, the first of which is Young Hearts. What was a chiming, winding, music box melody of a song has been turned on its head. Viewed from this new angle, it takes on a low slung, late night club vibe. Vocal and melodic elements are ripped and shredded, scattered to the wind, as that swinging central rhythm takes centre stage with a fresh hypnotism of its own.

Warp will release Darkstar's '01484' EP on 14th October 2013. Darkstar will perform their new live show at Corsica Studios on 4th December 2013 (tickets).
