Darkstar have finished their new album

Warp trio announced last night on Twitter that they've finished recording the follow-up to their 2010 debut album 'North'.

Darkstar announced last night on their Twitter that they have finished recording their new album, and that they will begin the mixing process on July 2nd.

Originally a duo, Darkstar released their debut full-length album ‘North’ on Hyperdub in 2010 for which they enlisted the vocal skills of James Buttery. Buttery subsequently joined James Young and Aiden Whalley as a full-time member and in 2011 the trio signed to Warp Records.

They moved up north in October last year to begin writing their new album and, according to recent tweets, have been working with producer Richard Formby who’s best known for his work with Wild Beasts.

There’s no news yet as to when the new album will be released but we’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, enjoy a lil’ ‘Gold’ from their last record.
