Ciara - Body Party

It’s fitting that Ciara, anointed the Princess of Crunk when she was introduced to the world, should reach even further back into Atlanta’s hip-hop/bass history for her latest single, sampling Ghost Town DJ’s 1996 hit My Boo. Producer Mike Will Made It runs the track through his signature muffled filter to give it that contemporary edge, and the atmosphere is effectively tuned from sweet and summery to close and intimate thanks to the great chemistry between Ciara and co-writer Future – whose uncredited ad-libs can be heard floating in the background. Body Party is taken from Ciara’s upcoming album ‘One Woman Army’, out in June.
