Chicago footwork battle [live video]
Bank holiday weekends are fine things. Monday just gone was a little more special than most because I got to spend it with Light Bulb, Manny and AG – three footwork dancers from Chicago who are part of DJ Rashad and DJ Spinn’s crew. They’re all over here along with Chrissy Murderbot on Planet Mu’s Footwork Tour, which is one of the very first opportunities for the UK to experience footwork music in context – a strange and wonderful cousin of Chicago juke made specifically for footwork dancers to make what-did-he-just-do? shapes to. The reason for Monday’s hang out was to make a short film about footwork, which we’ll be premiering next week.
