Charity music broadcast, curated by Arca, directed by Aphex Twin visual collaborator Weirdcore

Fashion designer Marcelo Burlon’s charity ‘Fondazione Marcelo Burlon‘ is joining forces with C2C Festival to broadcast a film from the aftereffect of a live immersive music experience held in Burlon’s private villa in Ibiza, which is surrounded by installations, sculptures, and artworks.

C2C Festival launched their digital project C0C ‘The Festival As A Performance’ in response to the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, and it follows a long line of adventurous evolutions of the avant—pop music scene in extraordinary locations. They have paired up with Fondazione Marcelo Burlon – a non-profit foundation that promotes and protects human, civil and political rights for individuals who are cultural and gender minorities. The foundation achieves this via cultural, charitable, and social activities to encourage social integration and improvement to quality of life.

The C2C Festival X Fundación Marcelo Burlon broadcast was directed by London-based digital AV mastermind and long-term Aphex Twin visual collaborator, Weirdcore. Curated by Venezuelan experimental artist, singer, performer and composer, Arca, it offers a transdisciplinary euphoric performance alongside guest performances from Physical Therapy and Total Freedom. Only a handful of guests were allowed to attend in person during the pandemic – each were given a handheld camera on entry, which was used to record footage that was then made into the final film piece.

Proceeds from the broadcast will go to ‘Casa Rifugio Marcella’, a temporary shelter for trans and non-binary people who are victims of discrimination and violence – a project dedicated to the memory of the activist and trans politician, Marcella Di Folco.

Stream the event at September 27th 8pm BST/9pm CET.

Tickets are available from Dice here. Attendees can choose to give a donation anywhere between €3 and €100.
