Carmen Villain - Quietly / Let Go

Before heading out on the road to support Neneh Cherry on her UK tour, the Norwegian singer-songwriter shares a dreamy, cosmic new single.

Carmen Villain is a US born, half-Norwegian, half-Mexican singer-songwriter whose real name is Carmen Hillestad.

Following her 2013 album 'Sleeper' for Smalltown Supersound, Hillestad is releasing a new single before heading out on the road, supporting Neneh Cherry on her UK tour.

There's not too much that needs to be said about Quietly and its almost entirely instrumental b-side Let Go: it's just some incredibly beautiful singing and songwriting supplemented by cosmic, psychedelic, dreamlike textures.

The single is a taste for Hillestad's second album as Carmen Villain, due at some unspecified point later this year.

Carmen Villain live dates:

January 16th: Eurosonic Festival, Groningen
January 28th: Electric Ballroom (with Neneh Cherry), London
January 29th: Gorilla (with Neneh Cherry), Manchester
January 30th: SWG3 (with Neneh Cherry), Glasgow

March 19th: Bla (with Dean Blunt), Oslo, NO

Smalltown Supersound release Quietly/Let Go on January 19th 2015 (pre-order).
