Download Caribou's 2011 live album with James Holden, Four Tet and more
Caribou has released a mini-album collecting three live tracks, clocking in at about half an hour.
Recorded in 2011 as part of his tour with the Caribou Vibration Ensemble, an 11-piece band featuring James Holden, Four Tet, Sinkane, and Sun Ra Arkestra bandleader Marshall Allen, the collection is worth it alone for the 13-minute long rendition of Sun.
All profits from the release go to Gendered Intelligence in memory of Julia Brightly – a trans front-of-house sound engineer for the likes of Mogwai and Fuck Buttons who died in 2014, and whose name was honoured on a song from Caribou's most recent album, 'Our Love'.
It's up on Bandcamp now and available to watch on YouTube, with a physical release also out today.
This release is all in the spirit of giving, which Caribou seems to be very into right now – last week he shared a 1000 song playlist of music he likes.
