Burial - Ashtray Wasp

At the end of last week Hyperdub announced a new EP from Burial, following on from his two albums on the label, titled ‘Kindred’. Yesterday, Scratcha DVA tweeted that he would be playing one of the tracks from the EP on the Hyperdub show on Rinse FM that night. He made good on his promise, and the track was (naturally) ripped and uploaded to Youtube immediately. The song in question is called Ashtray Wasp and is rather lovely, mellow and haunted from the two minutes on show – the full track is apparently around eight minutes in length. It’s a short, but sweet taster of what’s the to come from the south London producer, who remains one of the most intriguing voices in modern music.
