Brick Squad rapper Slim Dunkin killed

Member of southern rap crew shot to death in Atlanta studio.

Sad news – southern rapper Slim Dunkin has been killed. The murder took place during recording in an Atlanta, Georgia studio. Slim was only 24 years old.

“It appears the victim was scheduled to do a photo shoot,” Atlanta Police Maj. Keith Meadows told the Associated Press. “Before the video shoot took place, it appears the victim and suspect got involved in a verbal altercation. We don’t know what that altercation was about.”

“The suspect produced a weapon, discharged that handgun one time, striking the victim in the chest,” Meadows said.

Waka Flocka Flame, the leader of Slim Dunkin’s rap crew, Brick Squad took to Twitter, writing “Wish it was me. My….right hand is gone. Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget. Damn, I feel dead. All this stress. I feel lost”.

Brick Squad rose to prominence in the last couple of years on the back of their uniquely tectonic, violent take on southern rap, and their Bow bow bow bow bow catchphrase. Probably Slim Dunkin’s best-known track is below, and our thoughts go out to his family and friends.
