Blondes - Business (John Roberts remix)

Berlin-based producer fashions an elastic tension from the Brooklyn duo's heady house.

Blondes, the makers of our album of the week, keep the good times flowing with this preview of Berlin-via-Ohio producer John Robert’s remix of Business, one of the clubbiest tracks on Blondes’ self-titled LP. Roberts teases it into its composite parts to create that elastic, entrancing dancefloor tension he’s known for. In other words, it’s rather good. Check for yourself in the below stream that Boiler Room premiered a little earlier.

In other Blondes news, their tour got off to a bumpy start yesterday when Zach Steinman was sent home on arrival in Amsterdam owing to a small tear on his passport. A note on Blondes’ Facebook page said:

“Steinman has been deported back to the US where he will be expedited back to Europe on an emergency passport. The shows in Amsterdam and Tallin have had to be cancelled. As things stand the tour will continue from Berlin on Saturday. No other shows should be affected. We hope that the US officials are more helpful in the US than they were in Holland. Apologies to any one who was looking forward to seeing them play live in Amsterdam and Tallin. Those shows will be rearranged.”

Here’s wishing a speedy getting-back-on-track to Blondes.

RVNG Intl. released Blondes’ debut album ‘Blondes’ with an accompanying disc of remixes on 7th February 2012. All being well, Blondes will play live at the Shacklewell Arms on Thursday 16th February (details here)
