A good week for three of our favourite new artists.

Best Coast, will release their debut album, ‘Crazy For You’ on the 2nd August on Wichita. The deeply Los Angeles duo play slightly stoned-sounding surfpop better than anyone else and have released a string of 7s on US independent labels like Group Tightener, Atelier Cuseaux, Art Fag, Black Iris, PPM and Eskuche. They will play Cargo on the 2nd August. The debut album will include only new songs, but their best song so far, When I’m With You will appear as a ‘bonus track’, which seems like cheating somehow. Anyway, watch the video and make sure you don’t sleep.

Kwes will release his ‘No Need To Run’ EP on the Young Turks label on the 12th July on vinyl and download. He has released one 7, the spellbinding Hearts In Home, and produced for the xx, and collaborated with Micachu, Jack Penate and Leftfield. The Lewisham-based producer makes Psychedelic Soul music, and is one of the most exciting producers in London.

Finally, Denver, Colorado-based Rave DJ and HEALTH remixer Pictureplane will release an EP, ‘True Ruin Light Body’ on graphic designer and Zomby-art director Kate Morross’ Isomorph label on the 28th June.
