Banks - Waiting Game (produced by SOHN)

LA-based singer-songwriter Banks was remixed by Vienna-based producer and vocalist SOHN earlier this year to bewitching effect, with his love of hazed-out atmospherics and vocal tangles perfectly offsetting the biting tone and sinister themes in Banks’s off-kilter pop. With Waiting Game, the pair have brought their bleak aesthetics together to form a dense, rich heartbreak song, with Banks’s vocal tip-toeing meticulously over choirs of her own voice and piano chorbs that drop into caverns of reverb. If it didn’t sound so dark you might call it a match made in heaven.
