Bandshell – HES021 EP

London's ever-reliable Hessle Audio have a new EP of techno to make your skin crawl pencilled in for the end of June.

It’s hard to tell when all there is to listen to are clips, but the next release from Hessle Audio (one of the best dance labels around) seems like it’s going to be special. It’s an EP from Bandshell, and the four tracks contained within are immaculately broken exercises in tense, subtly swaying techno. Dust March stumbles and crawls along on cracked rhythms, while Rise ‘Em is a sharp hit of stripped percussion perhaps closest in vein to Blawan’s Hessle Audio release. Metzger and Dog Sweater (he’s got a good way with a title) are restrained, flexing workouts coming from the dusty, disjointed end of the dance floor. The EP is apparently out on June 25th, and you can stream clips of all the tracks below.
