Bad Bunny dropped his surprise debut album on Christmas Eve

The Puerto Rican artist gave fans an early Christmas present...

Latin rap star Bad Bunny surprised fans on Christmas Eve with his debut album, ‘X 100PRE’, further cementing the genre in the global music scene.

The 24-year-old Puerto Rican artist had a breakout year in 2018, becoming the third-most streamed artist in the world on YouTube.

The majority of production on the record is by renowned Puerto Rican producer Marcos “Tainy” Masís, also responsible for Cardi B’s ‘I Like It’, and embraces genres from rock to dembow to trap.

While the album also finds collaborations with Diplo, Drake, Dominican dembow artist El Alfa, as well as ‘Livin La Vida Loca’ veteran Ricky Martin.

Bad Bunny said: “And that’s how my 2019 starts off, my first album debuts #1 in Billboard. Thanks to all of you.”

‘Latin pop’s freaky king’ (as he’s been dubbed) has also just been announced for Coachella 2019, joining Aphex Twin, Tame Impala and many more.
