AyGeeTee is one of the bigger fish in a particular online underground network that's emerging – the producer's album 'Fools' was one of the milieu's highlights earlier this year, and I looked at it in connection with messy techno in an essay for Dummy. But AyGeeTee's freeform sensual flow is its own thing too, which the latest release 'Staring at the Sea, Snapping at your Heels' proves.
It's especially groovy, with chiming timbres both curved and prickly, jets of liquid, gas and plasma and bleeding chunks of Utopia. AyGeeTee recently put together, in aid of a friend, a landmark compilation of the great and the good of the online post-vaporwave / post-witch-house / ??? scene, featuring the talents of Marie Dior, Infinity Frequencies, Saint Pepsi, Party Trash, Magic Fades and RAP/RAP/RAP.
