Arca - Hips Don't Lie

Arca has been making perception-shifting music with dark corners and a twist of alien sexuality this year, so it makes complete sense that the Venezuelan producer would decide to give a different slant to Shakira's hip-contorting anthem Hips Don't Lie for Dazed Digital, after he placed at #3 on the Dazed 100 (a sort of power list for creative persons). 

Sucking out all of the straightforward pop foundations of the track and pulling in pockets of noise and irregular rhythms that whoosh by at warp speed underneath rattling drums, Shakira's vocals hide beneath as they're twisted into a demonic tone, snaking their way in and out of the edit in a slurred manner.
