*AR – Wolf Notes [album stream]

Pennines composer Richard Skelton returns, in collaboration with singer Autumn Richardson, with an album of strikingly beautiful modern classical music.

Type Records latest release comes from AR, a collaboration between Autumn Richardson and Richard Skelton, in the form of album ‘Wolf Notes’, which you can stream below.

Skelton’s album ‘Landings’ from last year, a record of gorgeous noise drawing from his home environment of the West Pennine Moors, still remains completely spell-binding, it’s use of sparse, natural sounds, raw, beautiful and touching. ‘Wolf Notes’ continues this organic way with noise, the lulling layers of Autumn Richardson’s voice complimenting Skelton’s treated strings and silk-fine sounds. It’s a special album that can be this paired back and yet say so much. Every noise on here is tweaked skillfully for maximum heart-pulling effect, the overall result both like standing in the middle of a craggy wilderness, and like being sung to in a dream.
