Another Arthur Russell-produced track has resurfaced

Buy the Nirosta Steel track as a limited edition 7", and hear a snippet of it inside.

Wilde Calm Records have just revealed that they are releasing an as yet unheard track that was produced and mixed by the late, great Arthur Russell. Some Say was, like three other tracks that surfaced a couple of months ago, part of the Nirosta Steel project of vocalist Steven Hall (who now fronts the tribute band Arthur’s Landing), and was initially shelved by Rough Trade in 1985.

Some Say is a swooning 80s affair, with Arthur’s clear sonic signature (that cello, those drums) written all over it. There are 500 limited edition vinyl copies up for grabs right now.

As we previously reported, three other recently unearthed Nirosta Steel tracks – Foxy Pup, So Unusual and Every Single Night – are now available via Hollie Records as a limited run of 300 12“s. Get more on that here.
