AlunaGeorge - Your Drums, Your Love (Samo Sound Boy Remix)

Sharp LA producer deconstructs the London pop duo's single.

A lot of remixes follow the route of making happy, up-beat songs sound sad, or sad, downbeat songs sound happy, but this remix of AlunaGeorge’s Your Drums, Your Love by Samo Sound Boy, pointed out to us by the guys over at The Fader, is something else.

The lean and bouncy edit, typical of the Body High label the producer runs with Jerome LOL, keeps the distinct feeling of downcast resignation in the original (already a perfectly complicated pop song), but strips it back by carefully re-arranging and layering snippets of the vocal and track. Nice work.
