AlunaGeorge - Attracting Flies (S-Type remix)

Despite zingy ingredients going into the mix, there's an intriguing air of restraint to this rework from the Glaswegian producer.

S-Type, who recently shared a cheeky take on MJ’s Dirty Diana – and was responsible for one of our favourite Dummy mixes of last year – has just shared his remix of AlunaGeorge’s most recent single, Attracting Flies. While still substantial with rolling snares, edgy strings and inevitably radiant synth work, it seems to stay on the edge of the precipice without ever really going off – and it’s better for it. That flute-style synth riff on the original also grated after a while, and to my ears more depth in Aluna Francis’ vocal is revealed against the LuckyMe man’s tumbling production.
