A$AP Rocky will release a free instrumental album this summer

The Harlem rapper will make his first major step as producer on upcoming release.

Rap aesthete A$AP Rocky has told MTV News of his plans to release an album made entirely of his own productions.

Titled ‘Beauty and the Beast: Slowed Down Sessions, Chapter 1’ it will presumably feature a heavy blend of his Houston via NY style, with Rocky himself describing the project as “really druggy, ambient shit […] like classical beautiful music and boom-bap Wu-Tang shit mixed together. It’s slowed down and it’s real vibey, with no lyrics.” Set for release sometime before the end of this summer, the album will be released online for free. It’s A$AP Rocky’s first full statement as a producer but he was credited as an additional producer under the name Lord Flacko on the tracks Fashion Killa and Suddenly from his debut ‘Long.Live.A$AP’, the latter of which is embedded below.
