Usher - Go Missin' (produced by Diplo)

The moment that the words “reckless abandon” float out of the glossy ether on Go Missin’, the new track from grumpy DJ Diplo and bona fide popstar Usher, is the moment you realise that you’re listening to a by-numbers recreation of the pair’s winning “twilight club tracks” formula. The song has some classic Diplo bounces and some classic Usher warbles, and it pulses and dwindles with the tense sexuality that has become their USP. It’s just not the instant, skin-prickling classic that Climax, our favourite song of 2012, was – it’s a free download, though, which is the next most exciting thing.
