THEESatisfaction – Sandra Bollocks Black Baby

THEESatisfaction are a pair of friends called Stasia Irons and Catherine Harris-White from Seattle. They make psychedelic electronic hip hop music that’s full and fun and wild. Their label, Sub Pop compares them to the wigout funk / jazz of Bobbi Humphrey, and that’s a totally great call, but we’d also like to add the wild afrofuturism of Soulsonic Force and and abstract simplicity of Fever Ray to the mix.

They’ve self-released one album already, 2008’s ‘That’s Weird’, and released a stream of BandCamp mixtapes, the best of which is ‘Sandra Bollock’s Black Baby’, which you can stream or buy below. Their album ‘awE NaturalE’ will be released on their collaborator Shabazz Palaces’s home label Sub Pop in March.
