UK based drill artist, Tantzz, continues to bring a fresh take on the genre with his latest release ‘AMIGO’, beginning with a guzheng sample that sits beside a heavy-hitting drill bassline. In the music video, the rapper sits askew on a chic armchair partway down a high school corridor. The London-born, Manchester-based Tantzz has been noticed by tastemakers Manny Nortem and Reece Parkinson for his enrapturing flow and hard beats, plus he’s had plays on Capital Xtra, BBC Radio 1xtra, Kiss, Radio 6, Reprezent, BBC Introducing, Rinse, No Signal and more.
He isn’t messing around – this year has already seen him drop tracks like ‘From Nothing’, about making the best of a bad situation, and ‘Envy You‘, for which he joined forces with Jetfly Multz. In both tracks, he demonstrates his originality and flair as an artist, with a stylistically Afroswing vocal that has slight melodic deliverance. His music has also been featured in campaigns by brands such as Footasylum and Converse. His tantalising sound has been compared to SL and Blanco, and the rapper has worked with some of the most prominent names in UK Rap at the moment, including Aitch, One Acen, Capo Lee and Big Tob.
‘AMIGO’ is out now on Mour Music via DMY.
