Sibling band Speedboat share the '80s-influenced 'bigboy123'

It's taken from the pair's forthcoming 'Split The Bill' EP

Brighton sibling band Speedboat have shared new single ‘bigboy123’, a cut with neon synths and zig-zagging melodies.

Brothers Johnny and Will Griffiths have been writing together in their home since 2017, finding inspiration (after an initial period of rejection) in their dad’s collection of ’80s pop, indie and new wave vinyl.

The pair swap duties on vocals, guitars, synths and keys, coming up with something uniquely expansive-sounding.

The duo are fans of late ’70s and early ’80s cinema, and ‘bigboy123’ tells a story with cinematic flair of a camera shop clerk who becomes infatuated with a customer. “A recurring theme is fictional romance and narratives,” the band say.

We’ve been working on the track with the band and Moshi Moshi’s digital imprint 0800-MOSHI-MOSHI via our DMY Artists, and the single is taken from their forthcoming ‘Split The Bill’ EP.
