Premiere: ticktock - Hatefuck
Sebastian Zieler, Jacob Koefoed, and Jens Skovgaard make up the quirky alt-pop trio known as ticktock. As their Soundcloud describes, they have a knack for making 'otherworld pop stuff' that is also quite emotive, inventive, and detail-oriented. More or less elder statesmen in the exciting scene coming out of Denmark, they have been making music together for close to a decade but continue to create sublime moments from disparate angles, irrespective of genre.
They are due to release their new EP, A Violence of Innocence, on February 2nd and, in it, the band has tried to sneak an uplifting element in through the backdoor – to load the music with the intention to uplift. Today we're premiering one of its tracks, the subtly titled 'Hatefuck', an exercise in synthetic grit, with glitchy undertones that frontman Sebastian Zieler's vocals cut through for an endorphin-releasing finish.
