Premiere: Shape Worship - Quilt

Shape Worship is the music-making alias for Ed Gillett, a South London-based producer who has been producing electronic music for a couple of years now. On his six-track debut EP ‘Observances’, Gillett builds on the forms of UK club music, taking the jagged rhythms and structures of these dark room cuts and adding something altogether more melodic and ecstatic on top. Whether it’s mining the archives of acid house, using the broken beats of 2-step or chopping up vocal samples, the clubbing signifiers are never far off, but Gillett expresses himself by transposing these with bright, uplifting lead synths.

Lush and mesmeric, Quilt is the EP’s standout track, and we’re hosting a stream of it right here for your listening pleasure.

Exotic Pylon will release ‘Observances’ on 3rd December. You can pre-order it now.
